I completely hate kit cleaning and sorting.
I've managed to sort through a lot of my kit while getting ready for a shoot today. Some of it really makes me wonder why I bought it in the first place.
I've got a couple of brushes where I pick them up and put them away because they aren't coming to the shoots with me. This happens all the time to the point where I wonder, what use are you?
I also have some kit bits that I can't really understand what I was thinking. I got rid of all my body painting and SPFX gear before I left for Italy. I know it 'goes off' really quickly and I was going to not be using it for eight months minimum. Which sucks because now I need a total restock of stuff with little access in Nottingham.
The one thing I really hate about packing my kit is packing my brush belt. This is only a small pack as I'm not taking a large amount of brushes. (okay that is a lot still....) I'm only doing one look on one model today so I don't need a huge amount. I have about 60 brushes in total from a variety of places and I have done shoots where I have flown through all the brushes and end up cleaning furiously in the bathroom to get new ones ready in time.
Awesome. At least all is done, packed and ready to go with me to the shoot today. I also don't have my kit box anymore as it's in Ireland. SUCKS to be me right now! Mind you, I am enjoying dragging my kit on wheels and not in a carry box though. I might have to invest in a proper box.
