ALIKO DANGOTE RETAINS HIS SPOT AS AFRICA'S RICHEST MAN ON FORBES 2016 WORLD BILLIONAIRES LIST

Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group has retained his number one spot as the richest man in Africa with Forbes 2016 World Billionaires List released this week.
Dangote places number 51 on the richest person in the world and number one in Africa.

Dangote's networth according to Forbes rose from $14.7 billion in 2015 to $15.4 in 2016.

Forbes 2016 list contains 1,810 billionaires in dollars and four other Nigerians apart from Dangote made the list. These include, Dr. Mike Adenuga, Chairman of Glo; Femi Otedola, Chairman of Forte Oil; Mrs Folorunsho Alakija, Founder and Executive Chairman of Famfa Oil Limited; Abdulsamad Rabiu, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of BUA Group.

Adenuga's networth was put at $10billion and he ranked 103rd in the global list.

Otedola was ranked 1,011th in the world and his networth stood at $1.8billion.

Alakija ranked 1,121th in the global list and her networth stood at $1.6 billion while

Rabiu ranked 1,577th billionaire in the world with a networth of $1.1 billion.

The Nigerian five billionaires had a total networth of $22.9 billion in 2015 but have increased it by $7billion to a total of $29.9 billion despite the economic crises in Nigeria.

Bill Gates remains the world's richest man in the world for three consecutive years in a row with a networth of $75billion in 2016, a decline by $4.2 billion as against 2015.
