Jewels, Layers of Perfection and a Pop of Plaid

Don’t dresses have that special tendency to look adorable and oh so cute in the Winter when everyone is covered up h2t? Want to look cute without freezing your biscuits off? Add tights, leggings, boots of course, chunky scarves .. preferably knit, knit socks, hats, fur stoles, and cardigans to the mix. Temps were just a tad mild so I got away with sheer tights but added a fur stole for a cozy effect and to keep me from fur-reezing.

Hello FI readers!
Ready to slay 2016? Let's do it!

All the holiday hype is behind us now and it’s back to 'life as we know it'. Create your own excitement or stay bored, hehe. I’m creating mine as you can tell, starting with this gorgeous dress that is made for twirling. With its deep V neck and layered flouncy full skirt this one is sure to turn heads wherever you go. The added jewels make this seasonless LBD perfect for your evening out. It is as fun as it is flirty. Named Nightingale and designed by the very creative and very artistic Dwight Anthony of Vindictive, this piece is so couture and so chic.

Burgundy is such a statement color. Fall after Fall, Winter after Winter, it takes center stage in the form of clothing, accessories and of course beauty. It’s a popular Fall/Winter tone for a really good reason. <<drum roll>> It makes you look instantly chic. I used Nightmoth lip liner and the beautiful burgundy lipstick Sin both by Mac to infuse the trendy color into this look. This combo looks great on just about anyone regardless of your undertones and is a great go to for those that find bright red lipstick overwhelming. Btw have you figured out your undertones? I wrote about that here infact. So are you on board with this hue? No? Pick up one and play with it, you’ll love it I promise. Not a fan of Mac Cosmetics? Revlon Black Cherry or NYX High Voltage Lipstick Feline are great dupes.

My pretty in pink plaid pumps that's now on sale after I paid full price (don't you just hate that :-( )  and a red clutch (for a pop of color ) both great autumnal/ winter hues completed this look.

Your thoughts, yay or nay?
Thanks again to Life and Times magazine for featuring me in the Fashion and Style section of their Winter 2015 edition.
