6 Real Women on the Best Plus-Size Jeans They've Ever Worn - Yahoo Lifestyle Posted: 07 Oct 2019 06:01 AM PDT Shopping for denim is a struggle for everyone, but that rings especially true for curvy gals looking for the perfect pair of plus-size jeans. You have to contend with weird gaps at the waist, styles that don't hold up against chub rub and weird sagging at the knees and/or rear after just a few wears. Fortunately, more brands than ever are rethinking the way they approach plus-size clothing all together, starting from scratch with new fit and fabric technologies that are made to compliment your body. So, we set out to round up the best of the best, polling real, curvy women on the brands they shop over and over again. Here are six real women on the best plus-size jeans they've ever bought and eight additional brands worth checking out. RELATED: Introducing the Everlane for Plus Sizes (a Minimalist's Answered Prayer) The IRL Review: What these jeans are all about: Universal Standard offers the largest size range of any brand on this list. But just because it covers a lot of body types doesn't mean it skimps on attention to detail. Each size is specifically engineered to address the most common fit issues among curvy women, and this particular style also happens to be the brand's best-selling jean of all time. So, it looks like Stefani's love for this pair of denim is shared by many. Universal Standard ($90) The IRL Review: What these jeans are all about: A fantastic classic wash and universally-flattering cut mean these jeans will stay in style for at least a few years to come. Made from Levi's sculpt fabrication, these jeans are soft and stretchy enough to move with your curves (rather than against them) while still sucking everything in to create one smooth line. Levi's ($60) The IRL Review: What these jeans are all about: These throwbacks are made from raw denim and have no stretch, but thanks to impeccable construction they're likely to hug your hips and thighs anyway. A classic cut and high waist make them feel classic enough to wear day in and day out, even if the wash harkens back to the start of Madonna's career. ASOS COLLUSION Plus x005 ($40) The IRL Review: What these jeans are all about: Express ($88) The IRL Review: What these jeans are all about: A perfect classic to wear (and buy) on repeat for any possible occasion. As Emily mentioned, Wit & Wisdom's Ab-solution technology is built into the waistband and back of the jeans to smooth out any trouble areas and give your booty a flattering lift. Wit & Wisdom ($78) The IRL Review: What these jeans are all about: Secret slim pockets and a lot of stretch work to keep your hips and thighs looking smooth and feeling comfortable. The ten-inch rise is just high enough to give your tummy some extra support without looking comically (or uncomfortably) long. Veronica Beard ($250) RELATED: 5 Plus-Size Outfits to Wear on Repeat for the Rest of This Winter MORE BRANDS THAT PLUS WOMEN LOVE:Sizes 0 to 24 This Los Angeles-based company is all about creating high-quality, easy-to-wear pieces at an affordable price point (most of its styles are under $100). It also incorporates a new type of stretch technology called Dual FX that conforms to your curves without losing shape or support over time. So buh-bye, annoying waist gap and saggy knees! Abby Ankle Skinny High Performance Denim jeans ($98) Sizes 00 to 24 Since the launch of her brand in 2016, Khloé Kardashian has put a major emphasis on inclusivity and finding the perfect fit—no matter your size. In fact, she recently updated her site to include photos of models wearing every size from her core styles (for some, that means up to 15 different photos) to give shoppers a clearer sense of how the jeans will look on them. The site even has individual size guides for each leg cut. So basically, Good American is ensuring you'll wind up with a pair that you really love. Good Curve Skinny jeans ($179) Sizes 00 to 24 Warp + Weft isn't just size inclusive and affordable, it's also majorly eco-friendly and is constantly working to update its sustainable practices. As it says on the website, a single pair of jeans made in the traditional manner requires 1,500 gallons of water, but a pair from Warp + Weft requires only 10 gallons, with 98 percent of that H20 then being treated and recycled. So not only will you look good, you'll be doing good as well. Slim Bootcut jeans ($98) Sizes 0 to 26 While we love LOFT for its adorable and on-trend workwear selection, it's not the first name we think of when thinking about denim. But it might be time to change that. The brand has slowly but surely been expanding its plus-size designs and its jeans selection is pretty fantastic. Look to them for comfy classics under $90, with a few special touches thrown in for good measure (oh, hello there, festive gold ankle buttons). Gilded Button High Rise Slim Pocket Skinny jeans ($80) Sizes 00 to 28 with petite sizing Born in the age of super-low rise jeans and whale-tails (the horror), Not Your Daughter's Jeans set out to design denim that real women, not trend-focused teens, could wear with confidence. Look for pairs with Lift Tuck Technology, which is built in for an extra smoothing, slimming effect. Marilyn Straight jeans ($129) Sizes 00 to 26 Lucky Brand is known for its true vintage, worn-in, "oh I've had these for years" look and its plus styles are no exception. They also feature a built-in slimming tummy panel to really streamline your silhouette and most styles offer multiple inseam options, so tall and petite ladies can find their perfect length in addition to a waistband that fits like a glove. Hayden Boot jeans ($90) Sizes 00 to 30 Old Navy is one of our favorite go-tos for easy dresses, adorable workout clothes and colorful accessories. And, of course, denim as well. The plus offerings aren't just straight sizes with some extra room. Contoured waistbands ensure no gapping and a seamless fit, while secret-slim pockets (a feature included in some straight size jeans as well) give you plenty of room to actually put something in your pocket without adding any extra bulk or bumps. High-Waisted Secret-Slim Pockets Kicker Boot-Cut jeans ($42) Sizes 12 to 28 with petite, short and long sizing Lane Bryant is entirely focused on creating clothing for plus women, which means all the brand's energy goes toward problem solving specific issues that plus-size women deal with. It tends to offer simpler, less trendy styles but the fit and feel make up for the lack of originality in design. Plus with most cuts available in regular, long, petite and short inseams, it's basically guaranteed that there's a pair that will fit you perfectly, no tailoring required. These Sleek Coated Skinny Jeans Are Our New Fall Obsession - Us Weekly Posted: 07 Oct 2019 01:45 PM PDT Fall is officially here and we're so excited to get into all the fashionable territory that comes with it. Our fall wardrobes, of course, are designed to accommodate the season's notably cooler temperatures. That means that we're trading in our tank tops for long sleeve shirts and cozy sweaters, and ditching our denim cutoffs for leggings and skinny jeans. Even though we're super eager to rock new-season styles, sometimes we run into a major problem: our wardrobes can start to get a little bit repetitive. And let's face it, when things start getting repetitive, they quickly tend to get boring. The last thing we want is to be bored with our personal style, and so we take a different approach to spice up our looks — and these sleek coated skinny jeans are just the ticket. They are our new favorite elevated fall basic. In a word, we're obsessed! See it: Get the 1822 Denim High Waist Coated Skinny Jeans for just $49, available at Nordstrom! We all own a standard pair (or five) of black skinny jeans that we find ourselves wearing on a weekly basis. But why not spice things up and pick up a pair of jeans that are a little bit different, and can add some edge to your everyday look? Well, these High Waist Coated Skinny Jeans from 1822 Denim are just the way to do that. We love that they put a little twist on the classic skinny jean that can completely transform the vibe of an outfit. These jeans are cut in a high-waist style that flatters the body, no matter what your shape may be. They feature the standard five-pocket style that are associated with traditional jeans, as well as a zip button fly closure. They offer a bit of stretch with 3% spandex that can add to their comfort level. And to top it all off, the price point is seriously amazing — which is something we always like to pay attention to when shopping. There's nothing we love more than a great deal! See it: Get the 1822 Denim High Waist Coated Skinny Jeans for just $49, available at Nordstrom! The coated look of these jeans makes them look more like a pair of leather pants and less like denim, which definitely gives them a trendy, downtown girl feel. Adding a bit of rock 'n' roll edge into your wardrobe is definitely not a bad thing, and these pants are the perfect way to do so. Instantly make any outfit look cooler by opting to wear these jeans instead of your standard pair of skinnies. Sometimes when we do wear actual leather pants, they're extremely hard to put on and not the most pleasant (remember Ross' infamous incident on Friends?). But because these are coated jeans, they are far more manageable than real leather pants without sacrificing any of the style points. And shoppers can attest to how comfortable these jeans are. One reviewer said that they "had been looking for black leather pants" and that they're "so glad [they] found these. They fit great and are comfortable." Another shopper said that these "denim high waist coated skinny jeans go on and are as comfortable as jeans but give the look of leather pants." The bottom line is are loving everything that these coated skinny jeans from 1822 Denim are bringing to the table. They add a distinct flare to any ensemble, and depending on the occasion, these may be exactly what you need. We're sure you're going to love them just as much as we do! Posted: 07 Oct 2019 04:00 AM PDT The season of denim has arrived! Culottes, bootcut, skinny, ripped, bellbottoms — HollywoodLife rounded up all the hottest jean trends to inspire your fall wardrobe, straight from celebrities' wardrobes.October not only marks the start of spooky season — it's now full-blown jean season! Pumpkin patches? Apple picking? Attending the annual family Thanksgiving dinner? Jeans fit the bill every time. The problem is how to rock denim for the next three months or so without committing the cardinal sin of outfit repeating (well, not too much outfit repeating), and fortunately, celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Jennifer Garner, Tiffany Haddish and Katie Holmes show us how to solve that problem. First of all, don't take the oversized trend for granted! Try a loose straight-legged pair of denim, which is what Khloe Kardashian, 35, wore to go shopping in Los Angeles on Oct. 3. While it's not exactly a revolutionary piece of clothing, Khloe didn't opt for the go-to complement of a form-fitting top. Instead, she doubled the outfit's bagginess with an oversized white dress shirt. By popping open a few buttons and styling her hair in loose beach waves, the Good American co-founder incorporated the sexy carefree style of summer into season-appropriate layers. If you'd like something a little more preppy, take a cue from Bella Hadid, 22! The model picked up a trick from her equestrian days by tucking her jeans into boots that hit just below the jeans for an outing in France on Oct. 1. Yes, we're referring to those polished boots that jockeys wear over their jodhpurs! This was Paris Fashion Week though, not the Kentucky Derby, so Bella added streetwear edge to the look by opting for especially baggy jeans and a New York Yankees cap. Check out HollywoodLife's gallery to check out even more ways stars have styled their denim this fall season, and in the past! Other standouts included Gigi, who demonstrated how cropped pants are the perfect choice if you want to put the limelight on a funkier pair of shoes (like her chunky sneakers), and Kendall Jenner, 23, who arguably rocked the most fashion-forward denim with prints of horses running down her pants leg. |
