McQueen was, back in the day, a devil for the detail. It's one thing I have to say that I see in Burton as well. They love the attention to the minor things. In fact I see the same attention paid at Chanel and it often means that there are blink and you miss it parts to the collection. For me, mcQueen has always been about the larger picture. Lee was always about the showmanship and the craft. His work was amazing at a distance but gorgeous up close. However, I almost always viewed it as a whole piece.
Burton is different. I like to look at the smaller sections of her work as well as the larger picture. She often brings the show to new levels with embellished footwear and gorgeous jewelry which is somewhat overshadowed by the overall effect.
So here goes.....a few images from the AW13 collection so you can appreciate...the details.
